We urge urban stakeholders to join us in a two front approach to lose of life where daily Black-on Black ( and other ) crime gets equal zeal alongside allegations of police brutality.
SWS Urban Fellowship supports law enforcement and promotes partnerships which create safety for urban officers and citizens alike.
We absolutely promote peaceful protests ( founder Cap Black is a veteran parade marshal of many marches ) and urge participants to leave alcohol, guns and illegal drugs at home. Allow the investigation to proceed minus destructive distractions like event confrontations with police or worse, riots.

Peaceful protests while serving as a safety valve or as a senior pastor emeritus is fond of saying a need to ventilate. However after the protests and the investigation, there needs to be summits to eliminate these types of shootings. An outside agency should come in
ReplyDeleteto investigate police departments. It can be a State Bureau of Investigation or an agency with equal status. Two representatives of the Baton Rouge Police Department were shown putting bullets into Alton Sterling. Their objectivity can be called into question. It has become trendy among conservative news commentators and those with a radio talk show to constantly serve up this refrain about black on black crime. They use it to distract the masses from focusing on what seems to be continuous killings and murder of black citizens. These conservatives have an agenda of their own which is to demonize black people. Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh know better yet they keep stirring the pot. Another item which irritates about the aforementioned is this myth they seem to espouse about black people apparently being up all hours of the night so we must know who the perpetrators are that bring havoc to our communities. Do they think that all blacks are gifted with ESP and psychic powers?
